National Ag Day is coming up next month and will be celebrated on March 22nd during National Ag Week.

Ag Day is a day to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by agriculture. Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across America join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture.

Agriculture is the largest industry in the State of Georgia.  Georgia is a leading producer of broiler poultry and egg production.  Cotton, beef, timber and peanuts also make up a large portion of the agricultural business in the state.

Chattooga County ag producers contribute to four of the five top segments of the ag economy, with the only exception being peanuts.

Ag Day will be marked in Chattooga County with events at the Chattooga County Ag Building on March 22nd.
