Staff members from the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources will hold a public information meeting concerning the proposed Summerville Commercial Historic District and the National Register of Historic Places.  The meeting will take place on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at 6:00 P.M. at the Summerville Depot on East Washington Street in downtown Summerville.

The Summerville Commercial Historic District encompasses the historic commercial area of Summerville and is centered on Commerce Street, Georgia Avenue, Washington Avenue, and the railroad corridor.  The proposed nomination and the public information meeting are sponsored by the City of Summerville and the Summerville Better Hometown Program.
