Over the past weekend, a complaint about a dog destroying property came into the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department.
When a responding deputy arrived on Orchard Hill Road in Summerville, the deputy spoke with the complainant who said that her neighbor’s German Shepherd had to out of the fence and tore up wires underneath her camper. The incident had happened several weeks ago.
The deputy spoke with the owner of the dog who said that they have a shock collar on the dog and a chain link fence around the yard to try to keep the dog up. She also said that she had no complaints from anyone about the animal.
The deputy reminded the dog owner of the leash law and that it was their responsibility to keep the dog on their property.
