
Cloudland Fire Department will be receiving new life-saving equipment courtesy of the Cherokee County, Alabama County Commission. Cloudland is considered one of the 13 fire departments that operates in Cherokee County and is the only area fire department that has fire stations in two counties – and two states.
During the regular meeting of the County Commission Monday, the Cherokee County Commission approved for all 13 Volunteer Fire Departments to have a new AED, automated external defibrillator which is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It is to monitor the hearts rhythm and deliver an electric shock if necessary.
The total cost to Cherokee County for the defibrillators is $10,360.
