A new industry in Ft Payne is now hiring – the AP Plasman Company, is currently in the process of building a new 170,000 square foot facility at 402 Airport Road.

That facility will represent an investment of approximately $15 million.

The company is presently accepting applications for production positions, with a starting pay rate of $9.50 an hour – with a $10.50-an-hour top-out pay, after one year.

Prior experience in production is not necessary.

The AP Plasman Company primarily develops, manufactures, and supplies plastic parts to auto-makers. The company is based in Windsor, Ontario in Canada. AP Plasman was one of the General Motors suppliers of the year for 2009.

The plant is expected to be up and running sometime in the second quarter of next year (2011) and will initially employ 200 people. That number is expected to grow to 350 by July, 2014.
