A fifty-five-year-old New Jersey man was arrested in Chattooga County after a deputy stopped the car he was driving in the Gore Community. 

Sheriff Mark Schrader said, “A traffic stop on May 18,2024 in the Gore area of Chattooga County resulted in the seizure of approximately 38 pounds of marijuana, several pounds of THC wax, other illegal drugs, over $17,000 cash and a firearm. Stephen Cox, age 55, of New Jersey was arrested on various charges related to the unlawful possession and trafficking of illegal drugs.

Sheriff Schrader added. “Deputy Ellenburg also recently made an arrest, unrelated to this one, for trafficking of fentanyl”.
