Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters announced last night at his regular monthly meeting that there is a new mobile home ordinance that has been adopted for Chattooga County.
The new ordinance says that manufactured homes that are more than 10 years old will not be allowed to be brought in to Chattooga County. The ordinance also has a provision that would allow the commissioner to require all mobile home movers to be licensed before they can transport a mobile home in the county. Winters said that the new county ordinance will bring Chattooga County in line with other counties in the area who already have strict mobile home ordinances in place.
In fact Chattooga County has had a mobile home ordinance for many years but according to Winters the ordinance was never enforced. AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio will have more on the commissioner’s new ordinance in upcoming newscats.
