There was some concern that icing would cause some major power-outages overnight on Monday. It appears that there have not been any wide-spread problems with power outages.
North Georgia Electric Membership Corporation reported a power outage in Murray County late on Monday evening.
As of 12:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, power was restored to all NGEMC customers in Murray County whose service was interrupted by a TVA transmission line outage. The power outage began around 11:30 p.m. Monday night and TVA and NGEMC crews responded to restore service to the 5,500 customers affected by the power outage.
North Georgia EMC serves 99,000 customers in Catoosa, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield counties.
