A traffic stop on Sloppy Floyd Lake Road last week ended with a Villanow man being charged with DUI for drugs.

A deputy on patrol after midnight on March 8th observed a Ford F-150 pickup truck with a brake light out and no tag light.  The deputy initiated a traffic stop at Wayside Baptist Church.

While speaking to the driver, thirty-one-year-old Andrew Glenn Gilbreath, the deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Gilbreath told the deputy that he had just got off work and was traveling home to Villanow. Gilbreath admitted to the deputy that he had smoked marijuana about twenty minutes before the traffic stop.  Gilbreath told the deputy “I messed up” and admitted to being under the influence.

Gilbreath was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on charges of DUI for drugs.
