The Georgia Department of Corrections is continuing their investigation into the stabbing death of an inmate at Hays State Prison last Saturday.

Chattooga County Coroner Earle Rainwater confirmed to media outlets that a Cobb County man was stabbed to death in his cell by another inmate – or inmates, but has referred reporters to the Department of Corrections for further details.

The Department of Corrections says no more statements about the death of Jorge Renberto Ventura will be released until the investigation is complete.
