Multiple North Georgia EMC (NGEMC) members have reported receiving threatening calls from scammers claiming to be from NGEMC late last week.

On Thursday caller instructed one NGEMC member to load a prepaid gift/debit card at Walgreens and call back at a number provided by the caller. Please note that NGEMC WILL NOT ask you to load a prepaid gift or debit card, nor do they accept pre-loaded debit cards.

Also on Thursday a NGEMC member received an unsolicited call from 800-662-2402. The caller demanded payment and threatened disconnection. NGEMC reminds their members that they do not have a 800 phone number.  They say you should always use one of NGEMC’s published phone numbers and always hang up on an unsolicited phone call that demands a payment.

The Trion NGEMC office is located 13822 Highway 27 and their phone number is 706-734-7341.  If you have any questions about unsolicited phone calls coming from someone claiming to be from NGEMC, they advise you to hang up and contact the local NGEMC office.
