The CDC in Atlanta has moved four Northwest Georgia counties to the high transmission (High Community Level) status after a significant uptick in the number of people testing positive for COVID-19.
The CDC recommends that those in at a High Community Level should wear masks indoors in public spaces and on public transportation. Those at higher risk of severe illness should consider taking additional precautions.
Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or those who have been in close contact with an individual with COVID-19, should be tested regardless of vaccination status.
Chattooga, Walker, Dade and Catoosa Counties are all considered to be in the High Community Level following the latest round of numbers released last week from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
