The Northwest Georgia Department of Public Health held their weekly briefing on December 16th.

The most recent statics show that the Northwest Georgia region has had over 30,875 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 535 deaths. Across the State of Georgia, there have been 479,340 PCR confirmed cases.

Testing across the state has increased by 43% in the last 7 day period over the previous 7 day period. Chattooga County remains in the Red Zone per the Department of Public Health. Hospitalizations have increased by 18% with our Northwest Region continuing to see active cases in local nursing homes and LTAC facilities.

According to the Northwest GA DPH, the regions median age of infection is 41 years of age, and the median age of death is 71.

There are numerous testing sites across the region that are open daily for COVID-19 testing.

Catoosa, Dade, and Walker – These sites are self-collection sites and will be open to the public from 9AM – 12PM and 12:30PM – 4:30PM.  *See schedule for specific dates.

Floyd – This site is self-collection sites and be open to the public from 8:30AM – 4:30PM. *See schedule for specific dates.

 Bartow and Gordon – These sites are self-collection sites and be open to the public from 8:30AM – 4:30PM, with the exception of, Bartow on Mondays and they will close their site at 4PM. *See schedule for specific dates.

Paulding – This site is self-collection and will be open to the public from 8:30AM – 4:30PM. *See schedule for specific dates.
