The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia says that Northwest Georgia could see potentially heavy rainfall starting Saturday and going through Tuesday of next week.

Tropical moisture is expected to spread over the Southeast from the Gulf of Mexico and some areas could see as much as 5 inches of rain before the system makes its way up the East Coast.  Then, next Tuesday, another front is expected to push through Northeast Alabama and Northwest Georgia that could bring another chance for significant rainfall.

Due to the amount of rain that is expected, the National Weather Service says those that live in low-lying or flood-prone areas should pay close attention to the weather and conditions in their area over the next several days.
