The Polk County Sheriff’s Department reported on Tuesday that two inmates at the Polk County Jail have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a release from the Polk County Jail: Both inmates are housed in the same housing unit. To attempt to mitigate the spread of the virus, our medical staff has placed H-Pod on quarantine until at least August 26, 2021. As a result of this quarantine, inmates may have limited access to our messaging platform and the phones.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Department said, “We understand the concern and stress that individuals may have for their loved ones, but our medical staff is working diligently to care for those impacted by this virus. Due to HIPPA, we can not disclose the names of the individuals who have tested positive. We apologize for any inconvenience, but thank you for your understanding as we all work together.
