Two Northwest Georgia non-profits are calling on the community to donate gently-used items during their spring cleaning efforts. Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley, serving Chattooga, Floyd, and Polk Counties, and the Hospitality House for Women, Inc., are both seeking donations to support their respective missions.
Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley’s ReStore, located at 504 East 1st Avenue in Rome, is a treasure trove of furniture, household goods, building supplies, and more. According to Executive Director Betsy Allgood, donations and purchases made at the ReStore directly contribute to building and repairing homes within the local community. Allgood noted a surge in donations recently, attributing it to the surge in spring cleaning activities. The ReStore is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm.
Meanwhile, the Hospitality House Thrift Store, located at 610 Shorter Avenue, is also seeking donations to support survivors of domestic violence. Angela Sanchez, Latin X Outreach and Access Coordinator, expressed immense gratitude for the community’s ongoing support. The Thrift Store offers a wide range of items, including clothing and home goods, with proceeds benefiting the Hospitality House for Women, Inc.’s vital mission. The Thrift Store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
Whether you’re decluttering your home or looking for a bargain, supporting these organizations is a win-win. Donate your gently-used items or shop for hidden gems and contribute to building a stronger, more supportive community in Northwest Georgia.
