A Northwest Georgia town has lost its charter. The Town of Ranger, Georgia is no more. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed legislation on Friday that does away with the town’s charter after the town stopped providing basic local services for its residents. The legislation was sponsored by State Representative Matt Barton who represents Gordon County in the Georgia General Assembly. The Gordon County government issued a statement of Friday saying it would begin to provide services for residents of the now-defunct town.
