Patricia Annette Barrett, APRN, FNP-BC, has joined Floyd Primary Care as a nurse practitioner. She will be seeing patients with Michael Gonsalves, M.D., at 4159 Martha Berry Highway in Armuchee.

Nurse practitioners prescribe medications and other treatments under the direction of a physician. They also obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations and order and perform diagnostic studies.

Barrett earned a Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the State University of West Georgia at Dalton. She has also completed the Wound, Ostomy and Continence program at Emory University. Before coming to Floyd, Barrett worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at North Georgia Healthcare Center in Ringgold and at LaFayette Family Center in LaFayette.
