As October ushers in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic are joining forces to deliver a powerful message: “There’s power in knowing.” This crucial campaign aims to empower women by emphasizing the vital importance of scheduling and attending their annual mammogram, a key tool in the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

This year’s awareness efforts are amplified by increased accessibility, with the Atrium Health Floyd Mobile Mammography Coach hitting the road throughout October. This initiative brings essential screening services directly to the community, breaking down potential barriers to care, especially for those in more rural areas.

Notably, Chattooga County will benefit from two scheduled visits from the Mobile Mammography Coach this month, highlighting the commitment to reaching all women in the region. The coach will be available for appointments at Atrium Health Floyd Primary Care in Summerville today, October 13th and again on October 27th, with services available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

The “There’s power in knowing” campaign serves as a reminder that knowledge gained through regular screenings can lead to better outcomes and peace of mind. Breast cancer affects countless lives, and proactive health management is a cornerstone of individual and community well-being.

Women are strongly encouraged to take advantage of these resources and prioritize their breast health. For more information about breast care services offered by Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic, or to schedule a mammogram appointment, please call 706-509-6840 or visit Floyd.org/Mammogram.

This October, let’s harness the power of knowing and make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
