The curve in front of Chelsea Baptist Church isn’t a normal place to crash a vehicle.

Therefore, when two separate crashes happened in the spot within an hour, it’s definitely odd.

That’s what happened on Oct. 26. The first crash involved a black Chevrolet Explorer and the driver fled the scene before cops arrived.

About an hour later, an off-duty Trion policeman crashed his yellow two-door car near the same location just past the church.

No one was injured.
