The official poster for Finster Fest 2026 has been unveiled as preparations continue for the annual celebration of art and the legacy of Howard Finster at Paradise Garden in Summerville.

This year’s Finster Fest is scheduled for September 19-20 at Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden, with the newly released festival poster designed by Decatur, Georgia artist Mary Pousner.

Organizers say Pousner sought to create a design filled with the distinctive spirit and energy associated with Finster and his work.

“I really enjoyed creating this poster for Paradise Garden,” Pousner said in announcing the design. She also praised the nonprofit organization that operates and preserves Paradise Garden for its work to uphold Finster’s legacy.

Pousner said Finster’s own artistic process of assembling individual elements to create a larger work helped inspire her approach to the poster.

For the design, she gathered images from Finster’s artwork and pieced them together into a colorful composition intended to capture the joyful nature of the festival and serve as a keepsake for those attending.

A collectible version of the poster and a festival T-shirt featuring the design will be available during Finster Fest. Organizers say both items are also expected to become available through Paradise Garden’s online shop.

Finster Fest 2026 will take place Saturday and Sunday, September 19-20, at Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden in Summerville.

The annual festival celebrates the life, art and influence of Howard Finster, the internationally recognized folk and visionary artist who transformed his Summerville property into the unique art environment now preserved as Paradise Garden.
