Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens has signed an order allowing companies to sell individual health policies for children in the new year. Hudgens said those who are uninsured, or whose employers do not offer coverage for dependents will be eligible to purchase the new children's policies. Legal guardians  may also purchase child policies if they are insured by medicare. The open enrollment period will end January 31. Coverage is scheduled to begin March 1.
