In October of last year , 59 year old Bob Packer of the Silver Hill Community in Chattooga County was accused of shooting his long-time friend James "Pee-Wee" Kirby in the chest with a shotgun. Shortly after his arrest on murder charges last year, Packer was denied bond.
A second bond hearing was held on January 7, 2011. Packer was granted a $150,000 bond at the second bond hearing. According to Chattooga County Sheriff John Everett, Packer was released from the Chattooga County Jail last week after making bond.
The shooting death of James "Pee-Wee" Kirby happened on October 6th of last year at the home of Bob Packer on John Jones Road. Kirby was found dead with a 12-guage gunshot wound to the chest. Packer was taken into custody and charged with felony-murder.
