Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden will host two Children’s Art Workshops on Tuesday, December 19th, and Wednesday, December 20th from 10 am – 12/noon in the Art & Learning Center (84 Knox St. Summerville, GA 30747). The Workshop on Tuesday, December 19th will be designed for 1st – 3rd graders, and the Workshop on Wednesday, December 20th will be geared towards 4th – 6th graders.

Working closely with art educator, Ellen Gadberry, students will work on creative art projects inspired by Rev. Howard Finster’s painting career and his 4-acre sculptural art environment. Gadberry has worked with children for over 35 years in the education field. Ellen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Secondary Education from Oglethorpe University, Atlanta, GA, and a Master of Library Media Degree from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA.

Parents and/or guardians are encouraged to pack a snack and bottles of water will be provided for students. Since students will be working with various art mediums, workshop participants are encouraged to wear clothes and shoes that are perfect for getting messy.
