The Paradise Garden Foundation has announced a significant leadership transition, welcoming Davia Weatherill as its new Executive Director. Weatherill steps into the role following the retirement of Tina Cox, who, after eight years of transformative leadership, will transition to Director of Strategic Development and remain a vital member of the Foundation’s board of directors.

Under Tina Cox’s visionary guidance, the Paradise Garden Foundation has experienced remarkable growth, achieving crucial financial stability and ensuring the enduring preservation of folk artist Howard Finster’s extraordinary legacy. Her tenure was marked by a steadfast commitment to the Garden’s future, most recently culminating in the successful preservation of the iconic World’s Folk Art Church.

“Tina’s dedication and strategic vision have been instrumental in securing the future of Paradise Garden and Howard Finster’s incredible artistic contributions,” stated a spokesperson for the Paradise Garden Foundation Board of Directors. “We are immensely grateful for her eight years of leadership and thrilled that she will continue to lend her expertise in a new strategic capacity and as a board member, providing invaluable continuity and insight.”

The board expressed enthusiastic support for Davia Weatherill’s appointment, citing her extensive experience and deep understanding of the Foundation’s mission. Weatherill brings over 20 years of nonprofit leadership, with a strong background specifically in the arts. Notably, she is already intimately familiar with the Paradise Garden Foundation, having worked alongside Cox for five years to shape and implement critical development and capital campaign plans.

Most recently, Weatherill directed the Woodruff Arts Center’s “Experience Atlanta, Experience Woodruff Capital Campaign,” where she successfully secured more than $63.5 million, demonstrating a formidable ability to drive significant fundraising initiatives.
