According to reports a pedestrian was struck Tuesday night on Highway 27 in Rock Spring.

The driver, 28 year old Hillary K. Mason, was on her way to work, and was in the process of turning into the Industrial Park, when she hit the male victim, later identified as 34 year old Jason August Barenklau, who had been walking in the turn lane.

Barenklau was carried to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The mishap occurred just after 9:30pm.
