EARLIER CHARGES AGAINST BUTLER INCLUDE BURGLARY AND THEFT BY RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY.  THOSE CHARGES STEM FROM A BREAK-IN AT AN AREA SPORTING GOOD STORE, WHERE SEVERAL GUNS AND OTHER WEAPONS WERE TAKEN.

THE HANDGUN BELIEVED TO HAVE FIRED THE BULLET THAT STRUCK MCKEEVER IN HIS TRUCK, IS ONE OF THOSE STOLEN GUNS RECOVERED IN THE INVESTIGATION.  BUTLER IS ALSO ONE OF THE TEENS ARRESTED IN THE THEFT OF 200-THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF CARS FROM RINGGOLD CHRYSLER IN DECEMBER.  A VIPER AND A JEEP WERE TOTALED AFTER THEY WERE STOLEN FROM THE CAR LOT.
