Phase II of the Chattooga County Water Project will soon be underway according to County Commissioner Jason Winters.  Winters told the Chattooga County Water District earlier this month that bids will be advertised over the next several weeks.  Bids will be opened on Friday, May 13 at the Commissioner’s Office in Summerville.

Phase II of the Chattooga County Water Project will bring county water service to residents in Holland, Chattoogaville and finish out the Chattooga County area of Cloudland.  Commissioner Winters said that around 90% of Chattooga County residents will have the availability of county water by the time Phase II is completed. 

The commissioner said that he expects the project to get underway quickly after the bids are awarded and the complete time frame for Phase II should see the project finished sometime in the summer of 2012.
