The road leading to the new Trion Police Department will be named in honor of Trion City School Superintendent Dr. Phil Williams.

The decision was made at the most recent Trion Town Council meeting.  Council Member Jeff “Fro” Wilson made the motion to name the road leading to the new police station in honor the Trion School Superintendent.

Trion Mayor Lanny Thomas was supportive of the unanimous decision by the town council saying “Phil does a great job with facilities.  You can see it at the Trion City School Campus.  Congratulations to Dr. Phil Williams.”

Construction on the new police station at Trion City Schools started last March.  No date has been set on when the new police station will be completed.
