A Highway 100 Summerville man reported the theft of a firearm on the Fourth of July.
According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, the complainant said that he believes his son stole the Mossberg .22 caliber pistol from his bedroom. The complainant said that he had seen the gun about thirty minutes prior to his son leaving the house. After his son left, the complainant said he went in his bedroom and saw that the gun was missing.
The gun has been entered into the GCIC statewide database as being stolen and the sheriff’s department is investigating the theft.
