Summerville Police responded to a call about a motorist who had lost a wheel on his vehicle. 

Police went to Highway 48, near the chert pit, and found an Alabama man in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup.  The man, who was disabled, told the responding officer that he had had some tire work done at a local tire shop.  On his way back to Alabama, the driver’s side, rear wheel came off the vehicle.

Another officer on the scene found the lost wheel and the local tire shop sent a wrecker to retrieve the vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
