Floyd County Police are searching for a man pretending to be a police officer who they say is driving a black charger with a blue light on the dash, pulling people over and flashing a badge.
It has happened twice that police know of in the last couple of days, both times on Calhoun Road.
One incident happened when the impostor pulled a female over near Fun Wheels skating center that was crowded with parents and children on a Friday night.

The Floyd County Police are patrolling the area in search of the man described as either a light-skin black man or a Hispanic man who was wearing blue pants, a blue shirt and a badge on his belt.

Another incident the woman he pulled over questioned his authority by asking “what the stop was for.”
" he said he had checked the vehicle tag and it had come back stolen,” “which was not true", said Sgt. Rusty Williams with the Floyd County Police Department.  The police impostor fled when confronted by the woman. Williams says the Black Charger he is driving, equipped with police blue lights, and resembles the Charger driven by a real Floyd County Police investigator.

The Sergeant is fearful for the public and the impostor.  "People around here they don't take kindly by being stopped by someone who's not the police", said Sgt. Williams.  So far a weapon has not been seen.  Floyd County Police are still trying to figure out what is motivating this counterfeit cop. 

 Floyd County Police are asking anyone with information on this impostor police officer to give them a call before someone gets hurt, including they say the perpetrator.
