Police are searching for a LaFayette man wanted for obstruction of an officer, fleeing, and reckless driving.
On Wednesday, March 2, an officer saw 21-year-old Michael Chance Ellison get into the driver’s seat of a black Jeep Cherokee at Walmart. A background check by computer revealed Ellison had a suspended license; but by that time Ellison had driven away.
The Jeep, with Ellison driving, was spotted later that day by an officer on North Steele Street. The officer turned on his lights and Ellison “peeled out.”
Ellison drove into a residential driveway on North Steele Street, jumped out of the Jeep, which continued to roll down a steep hill, and fled on foot.
There were two passengers in the Jeep, including Christian Danielle Broome, 30, of LaFayette. Police found suspected meth her purse and she was charged with possession.
