Many across Georgia and the country may associate video games with violence, but a new report by the Entertainment Software Association outlines positive features and essential facts about playing video games. Stanley Pierre-Louis is president and CEO of the organization and says that there are some beneficial skills that come from playing video games.

Louis says playing video games provides life-building skills, like teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving, along with soft skills, including empathy, because when you’re playing as another character, you get to see life from a different perspective.

He says their findings show that video games bring people together and find joy and connection through that game-play.

The report also says that 65% of Americans play video games on a regular basis.
