Power Outage Information:

As of 6 a.m., approximately 200 North Georgia EMC (NGEMC) customers are without power. Crews are currently working outages in Gordon, Whitfield, Walker, and Chattooga counties.  Additional crews are on standby in the event outages become more widespread. Mixed precipitation including snow, sleet, and ice may form on trees and power lines, causing damage to electrical facilities. Tree-cutting crews are assisting line crews in power restoration efforts by clearing fallen trees off lines and roadways. NGEMC urges extreme caution around fallen trees and power lines and along roadways as utility crews work. Please do not go near fallen power lines, but report these immediately to NGEMC or local emergency authorities. Customers without electricity are asked to call their local NGEMC office and use the automated telephone outage reporting system. If outages are widespread, the phone lines may be busy due to a heavy call volume.
