On Saturday afternoon, residents and businesses along Highway 27 between Summerville and Trion were affected by a power outage caused by a single vehicle accident on Highway 27 close to Truck Town. 

According to reports, a woman was travelling on the highway while looking at her cell phone when she left the roadway and struck a power pole, causing it to snap.

  Power was out to various areas starting around 2:00PM and wasn’t restored to all areas until after dark.
