Chattooga County 911 reported several trees down around the area last night as a result of some strong storms that hit Chattooga County.  The first of the storms rolled through the area around 9:30 PM.  Heavy rain and plenty of wind and thunder and lightning came with the storms.

Power was out in some ares of the county overnight for several hours as power crews with Georgia Power and NGEMC worked to restore electricity to customers.  There were reports of a tree that blew down on top of a car at Cloudland last night and trees and limbs across roadways.

North Georgia EMC currently has approximately 300 customers without power due to last nights heavy storms. Crews are still working to restore these outages primarily located in Whitfield and Walker Counties along with scattered outages in Chattooga, Gordon, and Catoosa Counties.
