The Polar Bear Plunge returns for its fourth year in Cave Spring.

Over the years, hundreds have braved the cold weather and cold waters on New Year's Day, to help benefit the Cave Spring Historical Society.

This year organizers are hoping for more than 150 people, or polar bears to come enjoy the celebration. All money raised will help go for the restoration and preservation efforts at the Vann Cherokee Cabin.

Jumpers will dive into the Rolator Pool at noon with registration beginning at 10:30. Cost will be $25 which includes a t-shirt. Following the jump participants will enjoy a traditional New Year`s Day lunch at the Hearn Academy building. Event goers can also enjoy the lunch at a rate of $5.00 a plate. Over the past few years the event has raised closed to $5,000.
