If you have traveled to downtown Rome from Summerville lately you have probably seen the construction of the new railroad bridge past John Davenport Drive that crosses over Highway 27.  According to reports a design flaw has been found in the project that involves the welding of the rails to the bridge.  According to the State DOT the problem can be corrected but it will cost an additional $90,000.  The problem is not expected to affect the completion date of December 31st of this year.
