Residents of Chattooga County will have an opportunity next month to provide input on programs and services for older adults throughout Northwest Georgia.

The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission’s Area Agency on Aging has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, November 3, at 2 p.m. at the Chattooga County Library, located at 360 Farrar Drive in Summerville.

The hearing is part of a series of public meetings being held throughout the agency’s 15-county service area. The goal is to gather feedback from residents about the needs of older adults and caregivers and use that information to guide future planning.

The Area Agency on Aging helps coordinate services designed to support older residents and allow them to remain independent. Those services include nutrition and wellness programs, caregiver resources, assistance with long-term care, information and referrals, and other support programs.

Residents are encouraged to attend the hearing and share their concerns, suggestions and experiences. Those unable to attend can also participate through an online survey or submit written comments.

Additional hearings are scheduled throughout November in neighboring counties, including Dade, Floyd, Gordon and Walker.

For more information or to submit comments, residents may contact Lynne Reeves with the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission at 706-295-6485.
