The Chattooga and Chickamauga Railroad will begin repairs on the railroad crossing located near Advanced Auto and Farrar Drive on Friday of this week.

The work is scheduled to being on Friday evening, September 8th and continue until Tuesday, September 12th.  The crossing has been a source of consternation for drivers for some time.  The repair is welcomed news for local commuters, but while the repairs are being made, the intersection will be completely closed down, according to railroad officials.  All vehicles will be rerouted which will cause delays for motorists.

The work will be completed before the arrival of the first steam passenger train on September 16th.
