On Wednesday, state officials are launching an innovative new mobile resource, the Ready Georgia mobile app, to help Georgia residents deal with emergencies. Georgia is the first state to offer such a robust app for emergency preparedness. From geo-located weather alerts to customizable emergency plans to live maps of open shelter locations, residents will have access to a variety of features never before available in one mobile application.
Charley English, Director of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security (GEMA), and Brenda Fitzgerald, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), will host the event from the State Operations Center at GEMA Headquarters at 10 a.m. on Sept. 21.
