The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission, in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Transportation, is working to create the region’s first Transit Development Plan.

“We are seeking public feedback through a survey of transit experiences, challenges, and needs,” Director of Regional Planning Julianne Meadows said. “We are seeking widespread public and stakeholder input to give us insight into transit needs and future opportunities.”

The Regional TDP aims to identify “transit needs and opportunities and inform future transit system investments” across the region by considering regional needs and travel patterns, focus on local transportation issues and concerns, and identify implementable transit projects.
The survey is available online. Residents can access the English version at SurveyMonkey.com/r/NWGRC_TDP_English and the Spanish version at SurveyMonkey.com/r/NWGRC_TDP_Espanol.
The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission is a multi-county organization made up of 15 counties and 48 municipalities, including Chattooga County.  Chattooga County is represented on the commission by County Commissioner Blake Elsberry, Summerville Mayor Harry Harvey and Mr. Jim Henry of Menlo.
