Summerville Main Street presented Renee Montgomery with the “Friend of the Community Award” on Wednesday.  Renee is an employee of the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and was presented the award during Friendship Week, leading up to the Friendship Festival this weekend.

Summerville Main Street Director Susan Locklear said:

Renee Montgomery of the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department is another deserving recipient of the “Friend of the Community” Award. Here are a few of the quotes from Renee’s nominations : ” Renee is always trying to make a difference but usually from the background instead of the forefront. She has been a dedicated community servant at the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department for over 20 years, and truly cares about the people in the community. She is the first in line to step up and help out when someone is in need without being asked, all while working full time and raising 3 very active boys. She is active in volunteering for the Boys & Girls Club and also serves as a mentor. Renee is one of the most thoughtful people you will ever meet. She often volunteers to help other parents out helping their kids get to and from practices. She would always tell you it’s nothing but she is definitely one of a kind.” Thank you Renee For All That You Do! Kindness Matters and You Are Modeling It Well! Keep Up The Good Work!
