Representative Barbara Massey Reece reported on her Facebook page late Sunday night / early Monday morning that she was in Atlanta for the legislative session that is scheduled to begin on Monday.

Representative Reece said that traffic was barely moving on I-75 and that many city streets were untravelled in the capital.  Reece said that Speaker of the Georgia House David Rallston was trying to find transportation to the capital for those representatives that did make into the city for the legislative session later today.

News came overnight that Governor-Elect Nathan Deal would be sworn in today in Atlanta, however many of the inauguration ceremonies scheduled for today have been cancelled due to the weather conditions across the state.  Governor Sonny Perdue declared a state of emergency on Sunday evening.
