The Chattooga County Republican Party has announced a “Meet the Candidate” event that will be held this Saturday at the Chattooga County Civic Center at Noon.

Several local candidates and representatives of candidates will be at the event.  Three Republicans who are running for seats on the Chattooga Board of Education will be speaking at the event, according to information released by the local GOP.  Bonnie Fletcher and Terry Henderson, who are running against each other in the Republican Primary for the Lyerly seat on the local school board, are scheduled to speak.  Also, Lori Brady, who is running against Steve Groves for the Republican nomination for the Menlo seat on the school board is scheduled to speak at the event.  The press release did not mention if Mr. Groves would be in attendance or speaking.

Also, Chattooga County resident Robert Watson who is challenging State Rep. Eddie Lumsden for the Republican nomination is scheduled to speak.  A representative for Kandiss Taylor who is running for governor is scheduled to be at the event as is a representative for State Senate Candidate Colton Moore.  Moore is running against former Catoosa County Commissioner Steven Henry for the seat that is currently held by State Senator Jeff Mullis who is not seeking reelection.
