The North West Georgia Regional Commission will be having a second water quality meeting for Chattooga and Floyd Counties concerning the watersheds of the Chattooga River plus six Floyd County creeks, and their impairments with elevated bacterial levels.
The NWGRC wants your input in this planning process, as this is a voluntary, stakeholder defined program.
If you live in this watershed, particularly around Lyerly/Holland area or are otherwise interested in the health the Chattooga River, please come between 2-4 PM on August 11th for this open house style meeting where you can review the plans and talk with the planners and representatives from various government agencies all working to address this issue.
The meeting will be held at 1 Jackson Hill Dr., up the hill from the Rome Civic Center. You can also access the draft plans on our website, www.nwgrc.org and you can submit your comments via email.
