The annual Christmas Parade is coming up in downtown Summerville on Monday.  Various churches and civic organizations have been working hard coming up with floats for this year’s event.  The theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas around the World.” Summerville City Manager Russell Thompson told AM 1180 that retiring Mayor Joe Robert Norton will be the Grand Marshall for this year’s parade.  Mayor Norton announced his resignation in November saying that “it was time” to retire.

The parade will start on Monday evening at 7 PM at the parking lot of Chattooga High School and go to the old Bi-Lo Parking lot next to Marvin’s.  More than 70 groups have signed up to participate in this year’s parade.
