Rome police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery of a convenience store that happened earlier this week.

According to a Floyd County Jail report, 34-year-old Phillip Wayne Holland of a Wilshire Road residence went into Rick’s High Tech Fuel on North Broad Street and pointed a gun at the clerk and demanding money.

Holland got away with $500 during the robbery that happened after midnight on Tuesday.

He was arrested at his residence by police on Wednesday night. The warrant states Holland was in possession of gloves and a cloth mask. He has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, theft by taking, and with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
