A Trion man was arrested around 6 PM on Thursday evening in connection with a burglary that took place around 2 AM Thursday morning at BJ’s Food Mart in Mountain View. 

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader said that his investigators got a tip about the suspect, Brandon L. Smith of Trion.  When investigators arrived at Smith’s home his vehicle wasn’t there, but deputies and investigators located him a short time later and placed him under arrest near Airport Road in Trion.

Sheriff Schrader said that the suspect had gotten away with around $200 in cash from the burglary on Thursday morning, and investigators were able to recover part of that money from the suspect when they took him into custody.

Smith is facing burglary charges and was being booked into the Chattooga County Jail as of Thursday evening.
